The Australian Graduate School of Engineering was established by the UNSW Faculty of Engineering to redefine the future of postgraduate education and lifelong learning for engineers. The AGSE will build upon the faculty’s strong reputation and track record for excellence – UNSW Engineering is consistently ranked #1 in Australia and among the top 50 engineering faculties in the world.

Meet our team
Megan Lord is the Academic Director of the Australian Graduate School of Engineering Industry PhD Program and Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering at the University of New South Wales (UNSW).
Megan attained a Doctor of Philosophy in Engineering, Master of Biomedical Engineering and First-class Honours degree in Chemical Engineering from UNSW. She is a recipient of a prestigious Australian Research Council Future Fellowship (2023- 2026) and internationally recognised in the field of biomaterials. She serves on the Standards Australia Committee HE-030 Biological and Clinical Evaluation of Medical Devices that reviews and ratifies ISO 10993 and TC 194 and holds executive positions on national and international professional societies.
Natalia Giraldo, Project Manager Strategic Initiatives, Faculty of Engineering UNSW.
Natalia Giraldo joined UNSW last year as the Project Manager at The Australian Graduate School of Engineering AGSE. She’s working on the operational development of the AGSE including the cause catalogue, business model and collaboration with The Australian Graduate School of Management AGSM.
Natalia has a background in urban planning and architecture and developed multiple transport projects in Europe such as the “Grand Paris” in France.
Patrica Karwan, Business Development coordinator, Faculty of Engineering UNSW.
Patricia is our newest member joining the Australian Graduate School of Engineering team as the Business Development Coordinator. Resourceful and self-motivated, she is committed to providing training and engagement opportunities to industry organisations and their employees.
Patricia has an in-depth knowledge of the higher education sector with over 18 year of business experience in this field. Much of her time has been working within the Engineering Faculty, building key internal and external relationships.
Anneli Strutt, Business Manager AGSE Industry PhD Program, Faculty of Engineering UNSW.
Anneli joins the Australian Graduate School of Engineering (AGSE) from the UNSW Graduate Research School, where she has extensive experience in PhD candidature management. Combining her Humanities background with a career in Higher Education administration and management, Anneli is responsible for running the day-to-day operations of the Industry PhD Program. As first point of contact for the program, Anneli welcomes enquiries and looks forward to fostering productive collaborations between candidates and Industry.
