I'm a registered and practising architect with a broad range of experience across education, residential, industrial and mixed use projects, with a strong focus on the public benefit of design and the improvement of the public domain.

In my research at UNSW, I'm analysing the morphology, architectural qualities and social activity of urban public spaces as a critical components of healthy, resilient, culturally diverse and safe cities. I'm focusing my study on the formation, use and meaning of urban public spaces in Sydney to better understand our urban life and how the built environment accommodates and responds to it.

Through my work, as an architect, researcher and photographer, I strive to raise public awareness of the role of architecture and urban design in sustainable urban development. My travels and international collaborations aim to foster the exchange of knowledge and best practices in the design and planning disciplines.

My research provides a deeper insight into unexamined perspectives on the unique reasons that informed Sydney’s public space and civic identity, combined with an understanding of how public spaces are used in Sydney today. It advances the understanding of how the built space accommodates and responds to formation, spatial qualities and social activity patterns observed in a densifying Australian city. The findings of my research aspire to provide insights, ideas, approaches, strategies and details that are useful for the practitioners in creating well informed and culturally relevant urban public spaces in the future.
