Wednesday, 18 December | Info Day | ATAR Release | UAC change of preference deadline
Our Enquiries Centre phone line will be open from 9am-midnight on Wednesday, 18 December to support students with any last minute questions they may have ahead of the UAC change of preference deadline at midnight.
UNSW will close operations for the university shutdown period from 5pm, 23 December 2024 and reopen 9am, 6 January 2025.
Our friendly Future Student Advisers will be available 7.30am-5pm on 23 DecemberԻ9am-5pm on 2 January to assist with any enquiries over the break.
Note: Most UNSW services will be unavailable during the shutdown period. Emergency and mental health support services are available for students during this time. All standard university operations will reopen on Monday, 6 January 2025.

It all depends on the program you want to study, whether it’s undergraduate or postgraduate, or whether it’s a coursework degree or research degree. Normally, you need to meet both academic entry requirements and English language entry requirements to get an offer. However, some programs may have additional selection criteria.

Do you know UNSW accepts secondary qualifications of certain overseas countries? Simply switch the country that you obtained a secondary qualification in the “Entry requirements” section of the degree you want to apply on the degree page. Our website will let you know if you are eligible to apply via international direct entry. We encourage you to for more information on what qualifications you may need to meet entry.
Taking English language tests is not the only way to meet our requirements. You may be eligible to apply for a waiver of English language requirements if you meet certain criteria listed on our website. Or you may choose to complete an Academic English program at before you start studying with us.
Alternatively, you may want to explore our pathway programs offered by UNSW College, including , and Academic English programs. The pathway programs provide seamless transitions to UNSW Sydney with a guaranteed spot in your preferred degree if you meet the required GPA and English requirements upon completion. Yes, we do – but only for A Levels or the IB Diploma results. The total predicted aggregate must be two points higher than the total final aggregate required for admission.
Results must be printed on official school letterhead and include the institution stamp and signature of the Principal, Registrar or Academic Director. Results should be dated after 1 January for entry in Term 3 (September intake), and after 1 June for Term 1 (February intake).
