AGSM @ UNSW Business School ranked 33rd globally in the QS 2024 Global MBA Rankings released today. The result puts the AGSM Full-Time MBA in the top 10% of the world’s best schools of management. The rankings assessed 340 programs across 58 countries, an increase of 25 programs and 10 countries from last year.

AGSM has remained in the top 10% of global rankings for three consecutive years and has been in the top 15% globally since 2021.

“AGSM’s position among the world’s top MBA programs remains strong,” said Professor Nick Wailes, Director AGSM and Dean UNSW Lifelong Learning.

“Our consistent ranking in the top 10% globally underscores the high standard of student outcomes, high impact research, a curriculum designed around immersive learning experiences, and the significant contributions of our global alumni community who drive change across various sectors worldwide,” he said.

AGSM ranked above the global average across all indicators: Return on Investment (ROI), Alumni Outcomes, Diversity, Thought Leadership and Employability. The school performed extremely well in the areas of Thought Leadership (with a global indicator of 89.2 - 38.3 points ahead of the global average), and Diversity (with an indicator of 91.7 – 31.7 ahead of the global average).

Thought Leadership was ranked against factors such as school’s research impact and academic reputation and is based on responses from over 200,000 academics in 60 countries around the world.

Not only pushing the boundaries of knowledge but also informing the way we educate future leaders.”

“We are constantly enhancing our programs by integrating cutting-edge research and fostering an environment where academic excellence meets real-world application, attracting world-renowned global academics to UNSW.”

Return on Investment (ROI) was also a key differentiator, with AGSM scoring 71.7.4 – 10.2 points ahead of the average. ROI is a measure of average for specific business schools based on factors such as tuition levels, opportunity costs, salary growth, and expected career progression.

“This year, AGSM @ UNSW Business School has once again exceeded global benchmarks, particularly maintaining a strong position in Thought Leadership and Diversity, reaffirming our commitment to fostering an inclusive and forward-thinking educational environment,” said Professor Wailes.

“As we look ahead, we are focused on equipping our graduates with the skills and perspectives needed to navigate and lead in an increasingly complex and interconnected world.”

Associate Professor Michele Roberts, AGSM's Academic Director, sees the school's consistent success in the QS Global MBA as a testament to the Business School's capacity to adapt in alignment with evolving industry needs. "Our continued strong performance in the QS Global MBA Rankings highlights AGSM's ability to evolve and meet the demands of a rapidly changing industry," she said.

A/Professor Roberts emphasises the increasing significance and importance of sustainable leadership in a constantly changing environment. "The growing importance of sustainable leadership is clear.
