Ms Sarka Stepankova
Sarka is a PhD candidate in the UNSW School of Accounting, Auditing, and Taxation.ÌýHer current research interest centres on professional scepticism, improving the quality of audit judgments and translation of these judgments into actions.
Before commencing her PhD, Sarka received a Master of Philosophy in Accounting (UNSW), Master of Professional Accounting (USC) and Bachelor in Economic Policy and Management (UJAK). Prior to this, Sarka worked as an accountant in Europe and in Australia.
Sarka’s Ph.D. thesis is about investigating how norms and self-efficacy beliefs influence auditor sceptical attitudes, intentions, and actions. This research project is funded by an Australian Government Research Training Program Scholarship.
