As a result of globalisation, the application of new technologies, and an ever-changing economic environment, more organisations rely on project work, programs and portfolios to conduct business. Project management methodologies can help standardise, structure and organise work methods to achieve things on time and budget, and to requirements.听

Students undertaking the听Master of Project Management听need to complete 48 Units of Credit (UOC) by completing eight 6-UOC courses from the list in the Handbook entry for the program (see the list in听Course availability).听
In the听Master of Project Management, students must complete two compulsory courses, two of the three core courses and four elective courses. Not all elective courses will be available in a particular year.听
The courses in the program may be taken in any order, but it's recommended that the two compulsory courses are completed first, followed by the two core courses, then the four elective courses.听
With the approval of the Program Coordinator, students may take up to two elective courses (12 UOC) from other coursework programs.听
With the approval of the Program Coordinator, master's students with an average mark of 65% or higher in four courses may complete a research project worth 12 UOC in lieu of two elective courses.听
The research project can be completed within one semester through enrolment in听听or spread across two听semesters听through enrolment in听听Completion听of either course results in the achievement of 12 UOC.听
The project is recommended for those with a strong interest in pursuing original research in a particular area or intending to undertake a higher research degree qualification. Students undertaking the听research project (听or听)听are听unable to enrol in elective courses from other coursework programs.听
