UNSW offers the following information, resources, support, education and training to assist its ¹û¶³app in meeting these standards.

Responsible Conduct of Research

The Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research is the national framework for honest, ethical, and responsible research conduct. It sets out the Principles and Responsibilities that ¹û¶³app and institutions are expected to follow when conducting research.

Resources, Codes, Policies & Guidelines

Various resources have been collated to assist UNSW ¹û¶³app enhance their knowledge and understanding of the Responsible Conduct of Research. These resources will assist ¹û¶³app in meeting their obligations and developing a model of best practice in their research endeavours.

Research Integrity Advisors

Research Integrity Advisors (RIAs) promote the responsible conduct of research and provide advice to those with concerns about potential breaches of the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research and the Code of Conduct and Values.

UNSW ¹û¶³app must be familiar and compliant with all aspects of the Responsible Conduct of Research. UNSW provides training and resources to ¹û¶³app to enable them to fulfil this obligation.

HDR Candidates must complete Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) training. Supervisors have a responsibility to guide, mentor and monitor their candidates in the RCR.

Authorship and Authorship Disputes

An authorship dispute arises when contributors disagree about who should be included as an author, the order in which they are listed, the content of the research output, who should be acknowledged or where the research output should be submitted or published.

iThenticate

iThenticate is plagiarism detection software available to UNSW ¹û¶³app to review and assess research outputs. iThenticate assists ¹û¶³app with the detection of plagiarised material in draft manuscripts and in HDR theses.
