Studying environmental management at UNSW
We're ranked 33rd in the world for environmental sciences.* At the undergraduate level, we offer a specialised Bachelor of Environmental Management. This degree explores how environmental science relates to the regulation, economic and social dimensions of environmental policy and management. With state-of-the-art learning facilities, opportunities for Work Integrated Learning (WIL) and plenty of collaborative lab and field experience working with leading environmental scientists, our graduates are ready to embark on exciting careers tackling some of the greatest challenges of our time. In addition to our core courses in environmental management, you can tailor a personalised program by adding a variety of majors and electives including biology, Earth science, ecology, marine and coastal science, environmental chemistry and geography.
Career opportunities in environmental management
Careers in environmental management are often multidisciplinary and can integrate many fields such as physical, biological and information sciences. Environmental professionals not only study the environment and assess human impacts – they also explore solutions like renewable energy, conservation strategies and sustainable development. Environmental careers can be quite diverse and span many different sectors including:
